The piquin is the smallest of all chilli peppers but don’t let the size fool you. Bright red in colour, these citrusy, nutty flavoured chillies boast nearly as much heat as a habanero, up to 8x hotter than a jalapeno. Use sparingly in sauces, rubs, chili and stews. If you love hot chili, salsa and stews, this is the chilli for you. Just put your kitchen gloves on before handling them! We use piquins to add a real kick to our ceviche and enfrijoladas.
